Abstract: Traditional sleep cycles are structured to increase REM duration progressively across 4 to 5 cycles, often leading to long REM periods just before waking—which can contribute to grogginess if interrupted. This module reverses that architecture by front-loading the longest REM period in the first cycle, then gradually tapering REM duration in subsequent cycles. The final cycle minimizes REM and encourages beta wave activity, creating a smoother neural transition into wakefulness. The system also adapts to the user’s resting heart rate, ideal sleep temperature, and audio/environmental data through AI-tuned variables, allowing for a responsive and personalized sleep experience that aligns with natural circadian rhythms or custom schedules.
